Event – SuNoSo Launch

Have you heard the one that goes, “How many foodie folk and local movers ‘n’ shakers can you fit into a mini?” I’m not sure what the answer is to that, but I am pretty sure that the team behind Brighton’s newly opened Asian-inspired takeaway SuNoSo could make a good guess, having crammed oh so many of us into their recent launch event.
There was a real buzz inside the modestly sized shop on Queen’s Road and I expect it will win the hearts of many a commuter and local office worker looking for a healthy snack. I won’t give you the full food review here, as I only tasted some bits and bobs that were being touted around as canapes, but I will tell you that the Gyozas alone merited a revisit sometime soon.

SuNoSo is the baby of Ryan Zhu, whose aim is to create a chain of such sites across the UK. It’s hard to doubt him when he has done well to pull together a friendly team of staff and connected well to an enthusiastic PR team (as a food blogger I can tell you that venues and their PR teams don’t always meld so well, usually with dire consequences). Did I mention that he also charmed the socks off of everyone there?

The feel I got from SuNoSo was of healthy, fun and friendly fast food. I’m pleased to see another healthy option opening late in Brighton (till 9pm) and soon they expect to be providing a delivery service within a 3 mile radius.

A special mention goes to Head Chef Aldrin Maminta and the SuNoSo waiting staff who waded through the crowds making sure we were having a good time. If this is starting as they mean to go on I’m looking forward to enjoying this new contender in Brighton.
